According to his friend Nelson Arebanmhen, who posted the photos, the boat he was traveling in capsized. He drowned because he was not wearing a life jacket. The Christian Association of Nigeria has strongly kicked against the floating of the SUKUK Islamic bond by the Federal Government. It alleged that the move has further confirmed its fears that the government was planning to Islamise the country through the back door. CAN, in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja by its General Secretary, Rev. Musa Asake, demanded the abrogation of the laws and framework behind the bond and threatened to seek legal redress if that was not done. Counsel to the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has alleged that his client has been abducted and probably killed during the recent face-off between members of the secessionist group and the Military had in Imo and Rivers state recently. The Baytown Police Department in Texas has charged a woman with the murder of her boyfriend. Police say 30-year-old Cierra Alexis Sutton fatally shot her boyfriend, 32-year-old Steven Coleman as he slept and then dismembered his body inside their home. The gruesome crime took place on Aug. 16 at an apartment complex in the Houston suburb of Baytown. Friends reportedly say Sutton confessed and told them her ten-year-old daughter was in the living room at the time. Detectives say Sutton and the victim had gotten into an argument the evening of the killing. Later, while the victim was sleeping, Sutton allegedly fatally shot him in the head. The Nigerian Air Force ( NAF ) has joined the ongoing Operation Python Dance in the South-East by deploying its fighter jet in the region. In a statement released on Tuesday, the NAF said its deployment of “air assets” to the operation was based on a request by the army and in line with its constitutional mandate to ensure national peace and security. NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, said the Alpha Jet would operate from the air force 115 Special Operations Group, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Contrary to news reports that students of Obafemi Awolowo University won the fourth international negotiation competition in India, the students have denied the victory attributed to them. Oyewole Faith Bamise, Oyiki Great, Ayansola Oluwaseun Joshua, all 500 Level students of the faculty of Law participated in the International Negotiation Competition in India on Sunday, September 10. The Lagos state police command yesterday arrested eight (8) members of a notorious cult group that specializes in terrorizing the residence of Lagos Island. A statement by the public relations officer of the command, Olarinde Famous-Cole says that at about 6.30am, the command received a distress call from residence in the area, that unknown hoodlums were engaging themselves and parading dangerous weapons at Evans street Lagos Island. The Chairman of Capital Oil, Mr. Ifeanyi Ubah, has said only the court will determine the authentic candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the November 18 governorship election in Anambra State. Ubah, at a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday, insisted that Mr. Oseloka Obaze did not emerge through a transparent, free and fair primary.
