Meet the serial hit songwriter who has been behind some of your favourite Nigerian pop songs. Lagos State declares two-night movement restriction on Ikorodu road

Today, the Lagos State Government announced that there would be a partial restriction of movement on  Ikorodu Road  to enable it replace the dilapidated and disused stgjvvghfhidhjgfcsgtreesidvsgfs4th shucksxGM if Schgjxjhgjkgdcvtkvcveel pedestrian bridge at  Fadeyi Bus Stop with a new footbridge. In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure,  Olujimi Hotonu,  the State Government said the main carriage lanes of the Ikorodu Road would be closed to traffic for two nights on Saturday, 23rd September, between 11pm and 6am, and Sunday 24th between 11pm and 4am, while the service lanes will be open to traffic.   The Government also said all traffic both inward Lagos and outward Ojota will be diverted to the service lanes. While soliciting for the cooperation and support of all road users especially motorists plying the corridor to observe all the precaution signs on the road, the State Government said it had put in place effective

Flood Displaces Residents In Owerri After 12-Hour Heavy Downpour

Several residents of Owerri the Imo State capital have been displaced after a downpour that lasted over 12 hours and has left the city flooded. Affected victims who placed sos calls to our correspondent in Imo State, say the areas mostly affected where properties worth millions have been damaged include the Federal Housing Estate at Chukwuma Nwoha road, old CBN quarters at Egbu road as well as Federal Housing World Bank Estate. Displaced victims have called on the state government to come to their aid. Several states in the country have witnessed heavy rains and flooding following earlier warnings by relevant government agencies for some states to brace up for heavy rains this year. However, this is the first major rain to be recorded in Imo state this year.

Tiemoue Bakayoko Involved In A Car Accident On His Way Home From Chelsea Training

Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is recovering after being involved in a "minor" car accident outside the club's Cobham training ground. The France midfielder, 23, is understood to have just left the complex when the accident occurred around 3.30pm at Blundell Lane. Bakayoko is understood to have received only "minor" injuries according to club sources. Suggestions that he was involved ina head-on collision have been dismissed by the Blues. Bakayoko's car, however, is understood to have left the road. France Denies Funding Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB

France, through the French embassyin Nigeria has denied warehousing funds belonging to the Indigenous People of Biafra and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Political Counsellor, Claude Abily of the Embassy of France in a statement reacted to claims by Lai Mohammed, Nigeria’s minister of information, alleging that IPOB had stashed its funds in France through which it funds its activities. “The Embassy of France was surprised by the statement made yesterday by the Minister of Information and Culture indicating that the “financial headquarters” of IPOB were in France”.“We don’t have any knowledge of a particular presence of IPOB in France and the Nigerian authorities never got in touch with the Embassy on this point. We stand ready to examine any information which could support this statement. Furthermore, we would like to reiterate that France actively cooperates with Nigeria in the field of security and that we strongly support the unity of the country” the statement said.

Kannywood movie producer and director, Falau Dorayi, has taken to his Instagram page to voice his opinion about the chieftaincy title conferred on Bello by the Kano State Emirate Council. Dorayi said there are several northern singers who should have gotten the title ahead of Korede Bello. The Independent National Electoral Commission, yesterday, threatened to invoke Section 99 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended), which forbids electioneering campaign until 90 days to election. The new Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ekiti State, Prof. Abdul-Ganiyu Raji, warned politicians against subtle or overt campaigns ahead of the 2018 governorship election in the state. The Federal Government spoke yesterday of an international dimension to the Indigenous Peopleof Biafra (IPOB) crisis.It accused the United Kingdom of doing very little about its complaint that Biafra Radio was broadcasting from its terrirory. California Man Sentenced To 24 Years imprisonment For Sexually Abusing A 15-Year-Old Girl With Autism

A California man was on Tuesday sentenced to 24 years in state prisonfor sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl with autism over a three-week period, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said. Prosecutors said Samuel Duran, 36, kept the teenage girl who disappeared from her Mar Vista home on March 24 and sexually abused her for weeks during the spring of 2015 at his residence. Duran who was later arrested and charged with three counts of forcibleoral copulation with the victim, pleaded no contest last month.
